Disayangkan memang untuk saat ini alamat dari Indonesia masih belum bisa digunakan untuk melakukan registrasi di Clickbank. Tidak hanya dari Indonesia, dari Philippines dan beberapa negara lain juga masih belum bisa melakukan registrasi disana. Sekitar pertengahan tahun 2007 saya sempat mengirim email ke bagian security Clickbank, tetapi rupanya masalah ‘black list’ ini tidak bisa diganggu gugat. Semoga saja dengan berjalannya waktu, registrasi di Clickbank dengan menggunakan alamat dari Indonesia bisa dilakukan seperti halnya di PayPal yang sebelumnya juga sempat tidak bisa.

Clickbank yang merupakan salah satu online marketplace dan affiliate network paling oke, belakangan ini harus lebih was-was. Soalnya saat ini sudah ada ‘pemain’ baru yang mungkin bakal jadi saingan berat Clickbank, yaitu Click2Sell. Bedanya dengan Clickbank, di Click2Sell merchant tidak hanya bisa menjual ‘digital goods’ dan ’subscriptions’ tapi juga bisa menjual ‘physical products’. Komisi yang ditawarkan hingga 95% dan tidak dikenakan biaya untuk mendaftar sebagai affiliate maupun merchant, yang mana di Clickbank dikenakan biaya $49.95 untuk merchant. Yang tidak kalah asik tentu saja cookies yang di set untuk aktif hingga 6 bulan.

Dalam hal pembayaran komisi saya lebih menyukai Clickbank karena mereka yang meng-handle semua pembayaran sehingga tidak mungkin terjadi kecurangan seperti pembelian yang di ‘undo’ oleh merchant ataupun seperti kasus yang pernah saya alami di Paydotcom dimana tanpa basa basi si vendor “membawa kabur” komisi saya dengan tidak membayarkannya. Di Click2Sell yang melakukan pembayaran komisi adalah merchant, seperti halnya di Paydotcom. Walaupun begitu, Click2Sell menetapkan peraturan jika merchant tidak melakukan pembayaran komisi kepada affiliatenya, maka mereka akan di ‘banned’ dan nama mereka akan berada pada ‘hall of shame’.

Si Amel rasanya cocok banget kalo di kasih jabatan ratu chat. Soalnya tiap hari di kantor yang namanya YM pasti online terus. Kalo udah kerja seriusnya minta ampun. Sampe-sampe rekan yang duduk bersebelahan sama dia jadi merasa “risih” soalnya takut kalah rajin sama si Amel. Selidik punya selidik ternyata si Amel ini lebih sibuk chattingnya daripada sibuk kerjanya. Tapi rekannya itu gak tau sama sekali kalo si Amel itu sibuk chatting masalahnya tiap kali rekannya ngelirik komputernya, YM nya langsung di minimize dan yang terbuka lebar-lebar itu cuma Microsoft Excel aja. Suatu ketika si Amel kaget sampe pucet ketika tiba-tiba di window YM nya muncul huruf-huruf yang terangkai menjadi sebuah kalimat dan terkirim dengan sendirinya ke teman chatnya padahal dia tidak menyentuh tombol-tombol keyboard. Sontak merasa ada yang ‘aneh’ dia langsung mematikan YM tersebut dan melanjutkan “chatting” dengan Microsoft Excel yang terbuka lebar-lebar itu.

You have probably heard that affiliate programs or also known as bounty, referral and associate programs are the fastest and easiest way to start an internet business. I’m so inspired by Ewen Chia and Rosalind Gardner.

Before i started to make my first step into this world of internet business, my day-to-day job is always working around with the computer systems such as Windows and Linux server systems. Right now i’m busier than i’ve ever been before but being busy with my full-time job and internet business allows me to indulge myself more now than ever before because the world of internet business has extremely changed my financial problem.

One thing that still prevent me from getting sleep well at night is about my first commission. I made an affiliate product sale for one of Paydotcom vendors on September, 2007. The amount of the commission is US$ 22.95. Although it’s not enough to buy a new Core 2 Duo processor, i can pay my web hosting bill for a year with that money. I’ve sent emails to the vendor three times and asked him when my commission will be paid but he didn’t reply me back. So i contacted Dan at Paydotcom helpdesk and he suspended the vendor’s account until he pays my commission. I also contacted PayPal and asked about any solution to recover my money back from him. Unfortunately PayPal couldn’t recovered my money from his account but they adviced me to make a ‘request money’ through my PayPal account.

From this experience, i have one important thing that i want to share with you. You had better choose a great product from a reputable vendor. Find out anything about the vendor before you decide to promote his/her product. You don’t want your commission paid after a couple months. Just for your information, I just got my commission paid on March 12, 2008 or a day after i made a ‘request money’ through PayPal.

I think this is great because it’s nice to know the money is in the bank. Direct deposit is my preferred method of payment and PayPal will be my next one because in my opinion these two methods of payment are more reliable and faster than the postal service.
